Sora Draft Downloader (“the extension”) lets you download Sora draft videos from sora.chatgpt.com using the hotkey Shift+D. The extension is designed with privacy in mind and does not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
What the extension does
- Runs only on Sora draft pages at
https://sora.chatgpt.com/d/*. - Reads the video element and the visible prompt text on the page so it can download the video and name the file using the prompt.
- Initiates a download via your browser’s built-in download manager.
Data collection
- The extension does not collect or store any personal information.
- The extension does not transmit data to external servers.
- The extension does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising.
Local processing
All operations occur locally within your browser. Any accessed page content (video URL and prompt text) is used solely for initiating the download and generating a filename.
Permissions
downloads— Required to save the video file and set its filename.https://sora.chatgpt.com/d/*— Required so the content script can read the video element and prompt text on draft pages.- (Optional)
https://videos.openai.com/*— Some Sora drafts resolve to a signed CDN URL; this permission may be declared strictly to initiate downloads. No browsing data is harvested.
Third parties
The extension does not share data with third parties. Video files are downloaded directly by your browser from the site hosting the file (e.g., videos.openai.com) and are subject to that site’s terms.
Children’s privacy
This extension is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “Effective date” above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
